Enhanced recovery after surgery in paediatrics: a review of the literature.

A comprehensive review of the latest research into enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) for paediatric patients. ERAS uses evidence-based techniques to reduce the response to surgical stress on the body with a protocol targeting the pre, intra and post operative stages. This article summarises the current evidence for ERAS components that are of benefit for paediatric patients as well as implementation strategies.
