APPLICATION FOR SPONSORED OVERSEAS DELEGATES

The Sponsored Overseas Delegate Program supports the professional development of anaesthetists working in low‑ and middle‑income countries by providing the opportunity to attend and contribute to the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) run by the Society for Paediatric Anaesthesia in New Zealand and Australia (SPANZA).

Each year, SPANZA welcome international colleagues whose work strengthens paediatric anaesthesia in diverse and resource‑limited settings. Through this program, delegates gain access to world‑class education, opportunities for academic contribution, and valuable professional networks across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region.

Previous delegates have included anaesthetists from Uganda, Mongolia, Thailand, Bhutan, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal, India, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.

By attending the ASM, successful applicants can:

  • Share their expertise through speaking or poster presentations
  • Access the latest research and clinical updates in paediatric anaesthesia
  • Build international collaborations that support ongoing learning and capacity‑building
  • Undertake a hospital observership (subject to availability) to experience local practice first‑hand

If you're a Consultant Anaesthetist working in a developing nation and are passionate about advancing paediatric anaesthesia in your community, we warmly encourage you to apply.
